Timberlands is seeking a Plant Operator to join our team at the Kaingaroa Processing Plant (KPP), a large log manufacturing plant situated off S.H 38 in the Kaingaroa Forest. This is a linear plant, processing whole stems from debarking through to cutting log grades and chipping offcuts, similar to a skid site operation. The plant runs 24 hours, 7 days a week throughout most of the year utilising a lifestyle friendly 4 on 4 off shift roster. Transport is provided from Rotorua to the plant.
This role involves:
- Learning to operate and rotate through each of the machine stations at the plant
- Assisting with breakdowns and maintenance work
- Some yard work associated with stocks
- Adhering to high standards in health, safety, value & quality
- Working and communicating effectively within a team
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Previous experience in a similar role (at least 3 years)
- Proven reliability and a good work ethic
- Good hand/eye co-ordination
- Basic computer skills or experience operating computerised systems
- Ability to work 12 hour shifts alternating between day and night shift, on a 4 on 4 off roster (minimum hours of work of 11.5 hours on a rotating roster of 4 days/nights on 4 days/nights off)
For this role, you will need to be located in Rotorua and have a Full New Zealand Drivers licence as you will need to have the ability to drive the company work van to and from the Kaingaroa Processing Plant.
The pay range is $57,408 to $70,000.
